Jewelry care

Here at Gemour, we source quality metals and use high-quality plating. Please note that all fashion jewelry (including plated, 925 Sterling Silver, and expensive jewelry brands) can experience normal wear and tear over time. To extend the life of your jewelry, please give them occasional breaks and keep them away from any moisture and creams.

Please follow these tips to maintain the quality and prevent early tarnish:

Keep them in your Gemour box when not in use

- Keep them in your Gemour box when not in use.

- Keep your skin dry.

- Avoid sweat, oils, and any chemical (including hand cream)

- Wipe with a soft cloth.

- Do not sleep in your jewelry.

- Avoid bathing, showering, or washing your hands with jewelry on.

- Get rid of the dark marks and tarnish with a polish cloth.

- For brass based rings: Apply a layer of polymer coating/clear nail varnish on the inside of your rings.

How to avoid Green Fingers

IMPORTANT: Traces of copper will be found in Gold/Rose Gold plating as this contributes to the coloring of the metal. In some extreme cases of sensitive, highly acidic skin, you may experience some oxidization (slight greening). This is a common trait in even the finest of jewelry.

If you are allergic or sensitive to metals or have had green tainting before then you are likely to experience the same reaction. Those that are sensitive to metals should not purchase copper/brass-based jewelry and instead opt for our 925 Sterling Silver jewelry.

Our 925 Sterling Silver Jewelry (all 925 Sterling Silver contains 92.5% sterling silver and 7.5% other substances) which may be a better option for you if have had green tainting before.

We take no responsibility or liability for any reactions that may take place; It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all precautions are taken as we are unable to know each individual's allergies and sensitivities.

WILL STERLING SILVER TARNISH?

Chemicallysilver is not very reactiveit does not react with oxygen or water at ordinary temperatures, meaning it does not tarnish easily. It's the other metals, primarily copper, that make sterling silver to tarnish. The copper reacts to moisture and sulfur in the air, causing the sterling silver tarnish. Our rhodium plated jewelry provides maximum durability.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY JEWELRY?

Clean cubic zirconia rings and jewelry with warm, soapy water and a soft cosmetic brush. When you are done cleaning your jewelry make sure to dry CZ stones fully to keep their brilliance and shine.

WHEN SHOULD I NOT WEAR MY JEWELRY?

Remove any cubic zirconia jewelry when doing any rigorous activity such as housework, working out, swimming, showering, etc.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY JEWELRY?

It is a good idea to keep your jewelry box organized as this will have many benefits. Store cubic zirconia jewelry in a fabric-lined box for protection and keep jewelry separated to prevent scratching and other damage.
